Hi, I'm Dean Turner, and I run Evolution Builders.
I've been remodeling and building custom homes in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. for over 20 years.
I’m a family man at heart, married for 22 years to a smart, successful woman, with two great kids and two fun-loving labs. A lifelong appreciation for the outdoors, and an abiding concern for the environment, inform and underpin my passion for staying current with the latest in building science, from energy efficiency to sustainable materials and cutting-edge techniques. Everything I do proceeds from the principles of trust, integrity, sound design, and quality craftsmanship.

Evolution Builders is a custom building firm that offers comprehensive planning and dependable excellence through all three phases of the building process.
PRE-CONSTRUCTION
All my projects begin with an informal meeting to learn my clients’ needs and wishes, discuss options and feasibility, and arrive at a preliminary budget. I approach these meetings with the belief that every client is an individual, and every job is bespoke. My input at this stage can range from extensive guidance and recommendations for shaping rough ideas into concrete plans, to presenting a practical roadmap for taking fully formed plans from concept to completion. When warranted, I can tap my well of talented colleagues to suggest an architect who best matches the style and scope of your project. Budget transparency and quality communication remain paramount as I secure permits, source and order materials, coordinate with specialists, present designs, and finalize a timeline.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Once construction begins, I maintain a commitment to full-time onsite supervision. Through regular updates, scheduled at your convenience and desired frequency, I will continue to provide budget tracking, adjusting plans as necessary, and apprising you of any changes to the schedule or the project parameters.
POST PRODUCTION
My dedication to client satisfaction does not end with a job well done. Thanks to my wealth of knowledge and experience, and extensive contacts in the industry, I can prepare my clients for what to expect over the life of a structure or building product, and then offer as much or as little post-construction support as they desire. That includes everything from simple advice to detailed maintenance plans and service contracts. Entropy is an unfortunate fact of life and everything requires upkeep, but maintenance need not be a mystery or a source of stress. I can identify areas to monitor and put you in touch with the people who can help.
